Assignment 1: Task 3

As for Task 3, we are assigned to analyze jobs that are related to Software Engineering which are advertised in Job Street from 9th till 11th of December 2010. So, we decided to choose 4 jobs; Project Manager, Software Programmer, Software Engineer and Web Developer. The findings that we got can be accessed by clicking on this link.

From the table above, we can see that all of the jobs require a Bachelor Degree. Most of the jobs also require working experience from the worker. Besides that, they also must be able to work in a team because most of the work are done in a group of people and communicating skill is very important to avoid any misunderstanding which could lead to wrong information about the work/project.

We can conclude that high interest and being updated with new technology is very important to work in IT field because most of the jobs need us to maintain and troubleshoot the problems that occurs. In the same time, we have to know how to communicate with each other efficiently to avoid any misunderstanding in a team. Even though we are working in a team, we should be independent and do not hope others to do the job. We also must be able to work under pressure as most of the work will be done in a tight schedule. So, we must be physically and mentally prepared before joining the work offered.
